Summer Adventure

Over the summer, I got the opportunity to visit my motherland. The reason why I went was because my family and I were invited to my mom's brother's wedding that was going to take place in August. It was a very special opportunity that we couldn't pass up. When we arrived, I got to reconnect with some of my closest cousins and family members. I was the nicest time I had in a while. Poland is my favorite spot to vacation in because, in my opinion, it's always a blast from the past. I was born in Poland and lived there until I was 8 until my parents decided to start a new life in Chicago.

While in Poland, I got to attend a lot of concerts and carnivals with my favorite cousins. We shared lots of laughs and made many new memories that I will never forget. When the wedding day approached us, I was more excited than ever. I knew my closest family is going to attend the wedding and that's what made the thought of it so great. I ended up catching the veil and having the time of my life. I think it's safe to say that it was the best wedding that I have ever attended.

I have visited Poland a couple of times before this one. The hardest part about going to your homeland is leaving. Saying goodbye is always going to be the toughest part of the trip. The thought of not seeing your closest family for another couple years is very hard to deal with. I can say, with hope in my voice, that this summer was one of my favorite summers of all time.

  1. Visiting the land you were born in was a great opportunity that was also very fascinating to read about. Attending a wedding in another country must have been a great experience for you and your family. I especially enjoyed you talking about how you were lucky enough to catch the veil at the wedding.
